One basic recipe, many possibilities: our meatballs with yogurt

You can modify these meatballs to your preference and use other types of ground meat, for example. Lamb is traditionally used in Israel. This is a little more expensive, but tastier and finer. On the other hand, if you eat vegan like our editor, you can simply use vegan ground beef thanks to the many alternatives. You’ll likely taste good thanks to the attractive spices in our recipe. Try it for yourself!

Meatballs with yoghurt go well with a piece of homemade flatbread if you’re not feeling hungry. And if you want to enjoy different flavors, offer another dip in addition to the herbal yogurt. How about a spicy stick, for example, or one of the different types of hummus?

Prepare

  1. Wash the figs and cut them. Peel the onions and garlic and chop them into fine cubes. Wash the parsley, shake it to dry, and chop finely. Mix all ingredients with minced meat and spices in a bowl. Twelve small balls are formed from it.

  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the meatballs until golden brown on all sides. At dipping time, wash the herbs, shake them to dry, chop them finely, and mix them with the yogurt. Season with salt and pepper and serve with ready-made meatballs.
